| As we get to these cold, winter months, FCA has been busy putting on and organizing events. One of the events being the "Go The Distance" banquet held at First Baptist downtown on November 7, 2011. A team of either cross country, golf, swimming, or volleyball nominates one of their teammates, that reflects the qualities of a christian athlete, to be recognized and recieve a medal. Athletes, coaches, and parents from around the different schools came to support the recipients. The attendance rounded to about five hundred people, and FCA gave medals to sixty-two students. |
Reggie Hutchins was the speaker that night, and did an amazing job at sharing the Gospel with the audience. After Reggie spoke, FCA gave the students an opportunity to write on Commitment Cards whether they wanted to commit their life to Christ, renew their commitment, or learn more about it. That night we had 121 students give their life to Christ, 45 renew their commitment, and 21 wanting to learn more information. Overall, the event was a success, and we appreciate everyone that helped out. |
